Hire an Agent? Are There Any Fees?
 
 
Many buyers choose to buy a home on their own and risk losing out on the best home for their needs, or WORSE, paying more for home than the home is worth. Shopping on your own does not save you any money...in fact, the real estate fee is paid by the seller’s listing agent. The seller has already agreed to a set fee to pay the listing agent whether the listing agent brings a buyer or the buyer comes along with his/her own agent. If the buyer has an agent, then the listing agent will split his/her fee received by the seller and give half of it to the buyer’s agent.
 
     
  This fee covers:  
     
  Negotiating terms and price on behalf of the buyer
Coordinating all the buyer’s tasks to get to closing
Handling all the paperwork associated with the purchase, loan and escrow company
Coordinating all inspections and appraisals on behalf of the buyer
And much more…
 
     
 
Some buyers feel that they may get a better deal going directly through the listing agent in hopes that the portion of the agreed to real estate fee/commission will be contributed towards the home price or concessions to the buyer. The listing agent is doing everything on the seller’s side and nobody likes to do double the work for half the pay, so it’s a NO BRAINER...embrace the joys and excitement of becoming a homeowner and leave the rest to a professional.
